a wheel issue

hello,

was interested in getting wheels that are 6" wide. Is there any way to get this size under a stock 73 beetle fender without getting flared guards?

at the present the wheels would exceed the fenders by ~1in...

help greatly appreciated

I have 7" under stock guards and a ir you look at the Wakefield pics Deiter's car (lime green) has run 8"s

It is all to do with offset.
It is not how wide it is but its relation with the centre.
Supers are a little difficult cause of the wide track at the front.
My ET (offset) is 40mm at the front and 50mm at the rear.
If you want to run steel wheels it is easy cause you just get them made up for this. Mags is a lot harder.
I also run a narrowed spring on the strut tower.

Go to http://www.sbo.com  and read the tech articles there and also do to Club Vee Dubs site and read the tech article Steve C wrote

Go to Struts and Stuff

Have fun
