swapping 1.6 for 1.8 subi

a friend of my fathers has offered us a 1.8l subi sportswagen at a very low price and i am looking at taking the engine to replace my wheezy 1.6 subi currently in my 76 kombi. the engine has done 2k+klms but has been maintained by ex-works specialists. when it comes to switching over, i believe as long as the engine is an EA81 it will bolt straight onto the conversion bits made for the 1.6 that i have at the moment. is this right? if not what would need to be modified?
