twin scroll for kombi torque

Well some time ago i aqquired a twin scroll VF38 to replace the TD04 i had been running on an EJ22 in my kombi. I had read good things about its early torque production which is very useful in a kombi used for puttering along dirt roads in second with big hills ahead...

at the time i mentioned it i had some hilarious responses( http://forums.aussieveedubbers.com/viewtopic.php?tid=81700 ) but finally found some time to do something about it.

being twinscroll my homemade manifold needed reworking...this is what ihad before:

so into the 14" cutter

last time i used gal waterpipe but went upmarket this time and bought a length of fire sprinkler pipe from the recycle for ten bucks....36mm ID...perfect...many many cuts on the saw...neighbours would hate me except Ian used to have a kombi...

anyway....

and...

test fit was good so time to weld it all up

have to adjust the dump pipe a little and a few other things

then it will be time to see....boost from 1600rpm?

I'll be interested to see what you think of it.
Is it going on the 20 or the 22?
I've got a VF23 there but my subi guru tells me a TD04 would be a good choice for the 22.

Joel in your case yes i think the TD04 would be perfect...lighter weight and only road use...the kombi was a weapon on the highway with the TD04 but i'm looking for lowdown grunt...at present i'm running the EJ20T but the plans are for the EJ235...just playing:cool:
