Subaru Coolant Manifold Reversal What if?

Yes I have too much time on my hands, so here is what a reversal looks like with out modifing the manifold and clearancing the bellhousing.

This was just to see how much of the bellhousing you lose, it's not to suit anthing yet.

Still have to check for clearance on the vw bellhousing starter bulge.

Edit: not even close

I use a reverse coolant manifold with my Syncro.I changed the angle of the manifold(cut/rewelded),rather than grinding out the case.
Either way much neater than the alternative.

Hope that's a parts engine, those coolant galleries look abit nasty inside.

RockNrob did the same thing clearancing the bellhousing with his conversion too.
Easy way out if you cant get Tig welding done,
I have seen people cut the manifold short and stick a hose on but it doesn't leave much room or meat to clamp the hose to.

Definately a parts engine, just an exercise to see how much of the bellhousing you lose.

It's been a bit hot!! http://forums.aussieveedubbers.com/viewtopic.php?tid=90207&page=1#pid839331

If that's how hot the block got I'd hate to see what the heads are like.

Balders i have my apres external thermostat connected to that pipe which gives me a nice little zigzag and lines the pipe up for its long run forward....

if you cut the manifold in just the right place there is nubbins to hold the rubber hose on:cool:
