Aussie Hebmuller Replicas?
Just bought a book on custom Vws and found mention of a Hebmuller replica kit made in Australia,
this is the second time I have seen this mentioned in a Vw book.
What, when, how? How long did they last, how many did they make, when was this going down,
who were the visionaries who took this on, where were they based, are there any on the road in Oz
now? Wow that's a lot of questions, just interested in these cool cars.
I would imagine some one may know a bit about this, also would think they were fibre glass, maybe
the molds are still in the country?
Don't want to sound like a sticky beak or offend anyone, just interested in the history of this interesting
aspect of Vw's in Australia?

The only one i have seen was my mates first car, it was meant to be a project but never made it to the road.
Was a chop top with single hoop roll bar, with a the fibreglass backing that covered over the rear parcel shelf and around, and some how meshed in
with the body lines. was where i first learnt to drive stick , but
had the typical eek factors of a normal chop top (like the unfinished corners on the windscreen and doors, and the b pillar).
I rekon set up a proper petite roll bar of legal sorts, remove the windscreen and replicate the cabriolet style front and you'll have a winner! :P
Can't help ya with the manufacturer details. but they are out there, and its still sitting in Buccan QLD.

They were made in Bendigo Vic, during the early '90s. The company was called "Resurection Panels". Unsure on exact numbers?? But most if not all
finished cars were imported to the UK. I know of a few that are still in OZ, including the one off "Heb Coupe".
The company folded and all the VW stuff was sold on, they are not interested in making any more.
The company was also making Karmann Cabriolet replicas aswell.

That's just a roadster conversion your mate had Chris,
The resurrection panels cabs were all steel proper cab replicas, they took an ordinary metal bug body and welded in all the different parts that a cab
body has like windscreen surround, door tops etc.
they had no rollbar, wind up back and front windows and factory cab style reinforcing and hood with glass back window.
They were actually pretty well done and used nearly all cab parts so were very close to the real thing.
