guys can you I D this switch for me please it was located near the radio on the dash appears to do nothing in my car

Not VW, maybe used as a wiper voltage drop resistor. Was your car originally 6 volt?

as per above or for theradio if it was a 6Volt

So is the car 12V now ???

its a variable rheostat [variable resistance]

usually used to dim dash lamps...

if used for high power items , it can glow hot...
