Dual Ports in Australia?
When were Dual Port Heads introduced into Australia?
Official VW ones not the okrasa or denzel types.

For Beetle's it lined up with the 1600 becoming available in the Super Bug, so 1971 onwards.
Type 3's far as I know got them earlier... possibly 1969 ???

As i'm trying to get everything '68 or earlier so I can conform to historic rally regs for CAMS.

dcnfs should be okay they were early webers

You're probably safer with DCNs than DCNFs.
The DCNFs came out on the on the Ferrari 246 which was 70 onwards where as the DCNs were from the 206 GT which started in 67 or 68.
I have a pair on my 1776 which are supposedly off a Ferrari according to the seller and they're awesome little carbs but they do suffer slightly from
fuel surge under hard cornering when mounted sideways in a twin carb setup due to the tiny fuel bowls in them.
Never had a problem with a single though mounted acrossways
Gene Berg used to love them and had some mod to fix the problem but I've never been able to find out what it was

Even the Berg DCNF's flooded during cornering. For me it's too bad a problem to fit them.
IDA's are from the 60's, if not before. Makes the decision easy really.

Now I have an excuse.... awesome!! just need to find the 2k to buy them
I'll have to get some smaller venturis though if I want to run them on a 1641
