VW BeetleHubcap height

I posted before about setting up some 16'' VE Commodore steelie rims with the beetle hubcaps using the VW clips and I purchased both for a trial setup and have found the non logo hubcap is a little high so I'm wondering if the hubcaps come in different heights.

I've already researched other type of caps and the problem is mounting them but the beetle caps would be perfect because of the clips.

can baby moon caps be held on with the clips???

there are other [rarer] VW hubcaps but they all have the emblem

around 1969 type 3s had them...
also some beetles overseas around 1966 or 1967??

maybe they can be bought without the emblem???
they were very flat but looked like the late hubcaps that didn't use clips...

LEE

PS: should ahve kept the 62 beetle...
anymore pics of it...?

No futher pics, I lost everything in the recent floods in Emerald Qld and this beetle picture was saved on my Photobucket page.
This beetle was stolen in Mackay Qld and latter found burnt out, luckily I had it insured and then went on to purchase the first of the 5 Toyota Crowns I've owned and we still have a 1975 MS85 Crown with 80,000 original klms on the clock.

I've added the wheel caps to the too hard basket and have ordered 4 of the Spider Caps instead which I saw being used on the rat rods at the Cooly Rocks on Festival in Coolangatta last weekend.

Do the spider caps come to suit later beetle (4 stud) steel rims?
Thanks.
Kris.
