NANKANG 135R15 73T CX668 Tyres
a bit too narrow for Me....
but Nankings are OK...
remember that most of Your braking is in the front tyres...
narrow tyres... less brakes....

I'm running 145's on the front of mine. Handles fine, my car is only a 1300 poverty pack anyway!
Some good info in that thead though Barls (& Steve).

I'm pretty slow ask most people but I don't belive that most of your braking is done with the front brakes not on a rear weight bias car?I had 135
nankangs on the front and 205 rears put nearly 400,000 on that car and best mod other than lowering it was the biggertype 3 brakes on the rear!

But Col, you know how to drive, and that car did only have front drums.
I was borrowing my brothers car for a while, it has 155's all round and 40hp drum brakes, it locked up the fronts something shocking, hardly slowed
you down. I never did check the tyre pressures, but reckon that's where 90% of the problem lies.......incorrect tyre pressures.

It may have only had drums and a 1376cc 40hp engine and I can drive ok but I can't belive how badly set up supposedly superior spec/later mod
beetles can be it must be like a second job to make some cars handle so bad!but then again a lot of people are more intrested in how their cars would
read if it got in a magazine!.it's all about setting a car up.I'd have 135's on stock rims etc or walk before I'd have some falcon offset mags
and wheel adaptors and the like.Cause every one knows that if you widen the track and put more rubber on the road you have improved the handling of
your beetle.
