Where to buy TRW steering box

Hi,

I am looking to buy a new, good quality (not made in China) steering box ideally TRW for '70 beetle. Does anyone in Australia sell them? the dealers I have contacted so far only have to Chinese ones.

Have not tried Mick yet, will try tomorrow.

I have found plenty in the UK and US, but would prefer to buy locally.

Is the same unit used for right and left hand drive?

if the vw part number has a c on the end
it usually means made in china
b = brasil m = mexico etc... g = german

or made in usa...

Really hard to find a genuine German made one ..... I have heard that NZ is a good place to look ..you could have a squiz on Trade Me .com which is a New Zealand site ...some great and stuff on there!
Hope this helps ... a bit!

I bought one a few years ago from VW and Volvo centre at Salisbury. You could also try Leons as well.
