YIKES...

they were popular in the 50s lol

fj holdens had them probably a nasco accessory... lol

never seen one on a beetle

the beetle ones went on the side in front of the door...

main connector down low then another stabiliser connector up higher....

they can still be found..

but a bottom connector that bends at 90 degrees... ??

Don't like them. It looks like it puts a dent in the roof when you mount it.

Unforunately Your best bet would be thesamba.com,
None are cheap though, here a Hirshmann............

http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1084779

It's funny that someone can put up a specific wanted ad on here and then get replies from people with no idea about it telling them how they should get a later beetle one or that it looks crap and puts a dent in the roof??

If you don't know what he's after why make a post??

FYI all split bugs built prior to Oct 1952 had a dimple in the roof for the antenna to mount.

I havent got time can you do it for me?
Until then I am convinced that the second shot had a depression in the paint at the roof mount. Mitchell

I'm led to believe there are a few examples that don't ;) but generally all do....
(based on some research from a very keen dubber)

would love to run the telefunken one when the time, radio and cash allows for it...
gotta get split popouts 1st thou - thats gonna hurt...!

that standard one looks good thou...

best of luck with the search...!

Thanks Guys,

Its just a shadow in that pic that makes it look like a dent.
So far from my research there was 3 brands made:
Telefunken
Hirschmann
Bosch
Repo Round:((still trying to find who does these)

With all the aftermarket parts available you would have thought someone would have had a copy of these made at at normal price. Might have to look into that, would be a substantial market worldwide.
Here they are in order above.

Yes, correct, further follow up its a dimple in the roof for the antenna to mount from manufacture.
