wheel size 71 beetle
have just bought a 71 beetle and it has a strange wheel combo on it did they make a wider wheel option from the dealer the rears are 15inch and the
fronts 14inch did they ever come out with 14inch rims |

I think early models had 14 inch my 69 has 15 inch originals but now has 15 inch alloys

It's not original, all bugs were 15" except very early 50s were 16".
It was a very common mod in the 80s when all the mainstream cars like Falcons, Commodore etc had 14" wide wheels so tyres were cheaper and also
wider.
People used to fit 14" rims to VW hubs.

ill have to find some 15s for the front as it seems very unstable with the 14s |
