You need to look to be 100% sure if you have 2 or 3 bolt
Also work out what wheel you want to run.
If it is 6" or wider you will need thin springs
Personally I have/like/recommend V Force
The way the $$$ is importing a set of Maxx struts could be ok
http://toplineparts.com/pricelist/pricelist.htm
By the time you put inserts in the MaXX Extreme I reckon the V Force would be better/cheaper

have been in a car with the cheap topline option, was nice, but too soft to run more than an inch or so lower than stock without tyres rubbing
(colonel mustard)
whatever joel is sunning currently/3months ago, felt nice, especially for the lowness of it
myself i have V-force, undriven but went with that after various opinions & the pitiful dollar helped the decision too
IF you go down & chat to richard you will probably end up going that option too, local after sales support may come in handy for you if anything
needs adjusting
you can get them from basic coilover to, helper springs with hard springs, different levels of inserts & adjustable tops

Those are my old struts in colonel mustard yeah?
stock springs were their let down, firmer springs and they would be a winner.
Still Topline Maxx in mine but I've got some stiffer springs from Richard to chuck in them.

indeed, but attempting to say its more worthwhile than a camera lense etc is fighting an uphill battle
yours seem to be a decent combo, bang for buck wise

just to clarify, i spoke to boris who,s option was to drop down 2 inches the spring carrier and upgrade the insert. which would be an economical
option. the empi ones i,m a bit sketchy on simply because they are empi. Sherman does a set of adjustable ones with lowered inserts for around the 440
mark and i believe the vforce ones are about the 1100 mark.i will be running 5.5 inch flat four sprintstars with 135 michelins. are the sherman ones
better then then the empi ones, are the v force ones really necessary for a street car. once the front end has new struts should you change sway bar
thickness or stay with the original size?

With sprint stars you can stay stock spring size so no need to go OTT with narrow coil struts.
Are Shermans struts definately adjustables?
I know he has always sold fixed height lowered ones but didn't know if he was now making adjustables.
all depends on how you drive as to whether a sway bar upgrade is good value or not.
I've got a 7/8" topline lowered swaybar on mine and it's night and day but I do push it pretty hard through corners and once you get below a 2"
drop the stock sway bar throws castor out the window.
Also not worth working the front too much without doing some upgrades to the rear.
Rear sway bars are abit of a problem at the moment unless you buy overseas.

brave man
Just lower the cup then
There is no need to go to the expense of the thin springs

shermans adjust in 2 inch increments. up 2, down either 2 or 4 inch. i have not seen them but the rest of his conversion stuff seems highly rated. as
i drive fairly sedately the front end drop is more an aesthetic thing not based on overall cornering ability as the 135 look good but have their
limitations in any hard cornering situation. if you drop 4 inches is it mandatoryto update to an adjustable swaybar as i remember them as being a pain
in the ass from the old ford mcpherson strut front end i used to muck around with in escorts. basicly i want a decent ride with the front nice and
low. i have spoken to a few guys who reckon to lower the cup will result in an unsatisfactory ride. Obviously the v force struts are primo but i
suppose the two lesser costing options are what i,m looking at at the moment, down the track i can always upgrade. Modified standard or shermans?

Scot
you NEED to check if you are 2 bolt or 3
2 bolt only goes a 2" drop
3 bolt can do 4"
