I am pretty sure there is only once AS for motorbike helmets. Any with the standard will be fine for 90% of motorsport (I think natioanal and
international events require the FIA standard?). Not sure about drag racing.
though remember, the AS is only a minimum standard and better helmets will surpass the standard. you need to consider you risk an buy a helmet to
suit.

I think with Drag racing, it needs to be a Snell rating. The current Snell rating for Car helmets is SA2010.
Pretty sure if you went to a RPM store, they could tell you what you need.

AS1698 would be fine sprints and drags (currently), but not for circuit racing as the Aust Standard doesn't have a fire-tolerance aspect to it.
The Snell rating system is motrsport specific - Snell SA helmets are good for sprints, drags and circuit racing while Snell MA are for motorbikes
only (not designed for potentially hitting roll cages)
The older Snell SA 2000 and SA 2005 ratings are still accepted, but if you're buying a new helmet it should be SA 2010.
Also good idea to replace helmets at 5 years... the materials apparently decompose over time, especially the padding and lining.

Further to what sides said, circuit as in door to door racing.
Also if you buy a helmet, buy a balaclava, it will extend the life of any helmet. Though if all your are doing are sprints and basic drags the AS
standard should be fine, but the better you buy, the better the lining is and the lr it will last. My old shoei XR1000 i had for my bike lasted 4
years of everyday use. My Stilo (for rallying) is still going strong after 4 years.

Try one with a WRC intercom and you will never try another intercom/helmet combo again......

Heh, yeah - very important to have a good helmet and intercom system in a car that never see's the track.

My car just got worn out, so had to be rebuilt...... Probably done more events and different types than you have so far.... though you could overtake
me in a few more years
I am not at 7 years yet though since it came of the road, only 4 so far
I don't have a intercom in the bug. I am just a nav whore...will take a ride with anybody with a spare seat!
ps when I am back in september I will bring a six pack around one night/weekend and we can have a good chat about the cars...

Hmm, interesting... first thing ever seen where ANDRA is more strict than CAMS !!!
That scan doesn't line up with what says on the ANDRA site tho, so who knows.
Need to get it figured out before Warwick tho I guess...
