VW engine in a WRX?

Maybe I'm just a 'stirrer'.......Yeah, OK, forget the 'maybe', but just to be different, how about an engine - such as the one that Rod Penrose is building at the moment - in a WRX?

Imagine the 'WRX boys' eyes pop out when they saw a 3.3 litre VW donk in the front, not to mention when they were left behind in the dust!.......suppose you're never too old to dream.

I'd rather wear a Beetle out by racing it than by polishing it!

Well Rod's engine IS destined for the front of a waterpumper, so it's not too far off !!!

Eh, why not.

It worked for VW, they did actually sell a Mk1 Golf with an air cooled 1600 in the front

That would be a Gol. Though it looked a lot like a Golf it evolved more from the first generation Passat.

hey they are not the only ones that thought of this kind of stuff.

i actually thought once, wouldn't it be funny putting a type 4 engine into an E series falcon, sure would fix the reliability issues

or a 993T engine into a bombadore, sure would surprise and leave for dead those ss loving know nothing red necks

would be great just for some lulz.
