Forced induction of sorts???

Hey guys,

I was trying to think of ways that you could keep your engine cooler and was wondering if there has ever been some sort of an induction kit made for early model beetles? or if there were other methods of getting your engine cooler (apart from water cooling). Im in far north queensland and im a bit worried about having my beetle as a daily driver....

Thanks

Not and induction kit of sorts but have you thought of just popping the engine lid with some stand-offs?

You can also open up the engine lid with some vents like the convertable bugs or later model bugs.

Your other option would be to add an oil cooler with thermostat so that it your engine temp is always under control.

If everythings all stock and in good tune you have nothing to worry to about.
These cars have survived for decades in some very hot climates, it's only when people start bastardising them removing heaters, plugging this/that, chucking out tinware and putting bigger engines in earlier cars with non vented lids that problems come up.

But adding decklid stand offs at the top makes a big difference.
Looks abit funny but works a treat.
