converting from Generator to Alternator, wiring
H Guys,
Im helping out a friend with his 68 beetle, he has putin a 1600 with an alternator, whats the go with bypassing the generator? Im sure this has been
asked a hundres times before.

If you mean bypassing the regulator (rather than generator) then yup, sure has been asked before !!!
All up pretty simple job really... just make sure you have the warning bulb wattage right (2W) and you should be all good !!!

Do we still have to bypass the regulator if their is no regulator inbuilt into the alternator or do we just use the original regulator under the back
seat?
I don't know what to do just in case, am curious. I'll post a couple of photos of the alternator tomorrow when I get it.
