Rod's putting a flat four into the front of a New Beetle to go drag racing... does that count ???

That's just a Golf shell plonked on a type 3 floor pan which is about the only way you could do it with a new beetle as well and I doubt any engineer
would pass something like that in Aus, so it would only be a shits and giggles show/strip car.
New Beetles being a FF layout would make it very hard to fit the engine up front unless you used some like a mk1 Gol which had a FWD gearbox connected
to an aircooled type1 1600.
Cool idea in theory though.
Bit like the VW powered Subarus
