throw out bearing -old to new.

Can i use the old throw out bearing on my transmission from the original clutch plate with the 3 spring plate set up. I have an newer clutch on newer engine. This one has the face with lots of little grooves etc.
Does anyone know what i am on about?

Have a 1960 beetle with 1600 engine so the newer 1600 has a modern clutch design. Can i keep the old school throw out bearing on and bolt on the engine etc.

Just need to see if new engine starts.

Should i purchase a new throw out. Just cant find part number for new throw out.

BTW its a sachs clutch.

you have answered your own question , you have to use the new bearing that matches the new clutch.

Cheers, Just thought it might work. Did some research whilst waiting reply. Looks like a trip to the mainland to get a new bearing.

or A kennedy pressure plate has the flat steel ring on them that can be left on to use old bearing or can be removed to run newer bearing.
what does the sachs look like ?
