Sort of a Type 1 Squareback :P

I rather like it too - the side vents should help solve the problem of getting cooling air to the motor once the rear window vents have been removed.

I really like it too, I agree, it's a Type 1 Squareback.
Looks great in my opinion.

A little too much rear overhang but otherwise a nice interpretation of a type1 squareback. I'd own one

I always look at the metal work in this kind of custom work. How it was done, the difficulty, how much has to be moulded to fit.
I love it when a beautiful, original, rust free, one owner vehicle is cut up to do the project.
Why start with a rusty one?
The only changes I would see is to have shorter back vent, and maybe mould body bulge line forward into rear quarter panel. Hard to say until you see
it by eye.
Not my personal choice of colour either.

I really like it! I kind of wonder whether the rear end of it is the full width of a Type 2 though, or whether they've narrowed it? The body seems to
taper to meet up with the Beetle B-pillars. Very nice, I'd definitely own it. In fact, I'd swap my Beetle for it. It would be nice to have a rear
hatch to put luggage in, instead of trying to load large objects through the doors and over the back seat!

That's an incredibly flattering photo of the yellow submarine.
It's very out of proportion in the ass end when viewed from any other angle,it's got way to much body overhang at the rear
been forsale for ages.
Someone did a pretty good photoshop shortening it to a decent length

Be that as it may there are still much nicer bug-busses-squareback creations out there like these

I'd own the blue one in Joel's post. Regardless, lot of workmanship there.

I'd own either the green or the blue one but the yellow one just looks strange with that big butt.
Is it just my imagination or is the body on the yellow one wedge shaped? It appears to start narrow at the windscreen and then continue to widen out
right to the back edge....?
