If you're just after a longer shifter, they're not hard to extend!
I'm about to do mine when my knob gets here.

I've got a 65 mate, how are you going to extend it? I'm thinking I would like to be able to go back and forth between a short one and a long one

This is the one I did in my old Navara.
12mm tube from bunnings, bent in a vice (carefully!) and plug welded to the original shifter. I plug welded a piece of 3/8 threaded rod in the top to screw the knob onto.
I guess if you're handy you could make it bolt on, but it would be just as easy to get another stock shifter as a spare.
