Wanted: 70 Beetle dash vent ducting and hoses?
Hi,
I am trying to rebuild the heating/venting system in my 70 VW Beetle. I have contacted Classic Vee-Dub in Sydney. They can get me the three dash
vents, but not the ducting behind (they say it is not listed an an available part). California Imports do not list these parts either (or not that I
can find).
The dash looks like this;
Or with the vents on a friends Dub (similar model);
The duct that the central vent connects to I have and it looks like this (the old vent is sitting in the top, but is falling apart);
What I am looking for is the ducts that the two side vents connect to and maybe the hoses that connect them all.
Can anyone help? Or does anyone have any suggests as to where I might locate some?
Cheers..

The vents are available from cip1. I've not looked for the ducts, but they might have them too.

Just an idea, try flexable conduit available in various sizes from electrical wholesalers.

Before you hand over your hard earned, just be aware the ones Cip sell will fit but are going to look totally rediculous.
They're designed for the padded dash so will stick up about 1".
If you want the original flush ones like in the pic above you're gonna have to buy from Europe.
VWheritage sell them.
Re. the ducting though you're only hope is a 68-70 bug being wrecked, no one reproduces those.
71 on is different.
Have you got the fresh air box as well?
Without it the ducting is pointless and the rain is gonna drain straight in onto the electrical and fuel tank through the hood vent.

Thanks guys,
I actually got a PM from a guy on here and so now, thanks to him, I have the ducts and two of the three vents.
I still need to get one of the side vents though, or maybe a new set of all three? Joel mentioned that I can get them from VWheritage in the UK.
Classic Vee-Dub in Sydney told me they could get them too. Would these the the right ones or the same as the Cip ones? Anyone know?
Oh, and yes I do have the fresh air box. My Bug actually still had one of them thankfully.
So, all I should need now (apart from another vent) is some hosing and to work out how it all goes together...lol
Thanks again for all the help and advice.
Cheers..

I just saw You are in Northern NSW Armidale..
it took Me years to find some good vents at swap meets as they are different to the later models
it was even suggested that I cut up later ones and join them to make up mine....
the hoses are an odd size too...
You will need to get some out of an old car...
My Son wrecked one early this year...
He cut it up , but I guess all that stuff went to the tip..

The ones Classic sell should be the right ones, they probably get them from Europe too, I cant see them importing ones that were never even used in
Aus.
Its the 71-72 non padded ones that aren't made by anyone anymore.
Those hoses are easy on 68-70 it's just the cardboard heater hose.
