Kombi g/box (late) to '83 T3
Hi all, I need some advice/pointers please.
Intending to replace my '83 T3 gearbox with a late model (77-78ish) Kombi unit.
1. Is it possible ? Any custom/fabricated parts I should be aware of ?
2. Any body / suspension modifications ?
3. Drive shats and CV joints all the same ?
4. Any reliable method of checking a 2nd unit gearbox before installing it ?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Is your '83 4 or 5 speed? That is the change over year.
Can't say I know all the answers, but the big obvious difference is the gear change inlet moved for the T3 (from the nose in a T2 to the side in a
T3). Not sure if this is as simple as swapping the nose cones.
Maybe post the part number of the gear box to help out know exactly what you have.

Thanks Andy.
The '83 g/box is 4 speed. I'll try to find out the part number.
