Doorcards & seats for blue slip?
Hi,
Just trying to work out if i can get my car on the road sooner. Can i get a blue slip in NSW without door cards fitted? Do i need all the seats
installed? I know it would be pretty noisy, but it would be much easier to get it to trimmers and all those sort of places if i could drive it rather
than hiring a trailer.
Cheers

yes you need door cards and winders etc fitted. If your back seat is missing then your car will be blue slipped as a 2 seater..........and you dont
want that!

To pass i blue slip the vehicle must meet all of the RTA standards to be roadworthy. Seats, seat belts and trims need to be fitted. There are enough
sub standard vehicles on the road already, just think how you would go if the vehicle was passed ,you did no more work and were involved in a major
accident. The examiner would carry the brunt of the legal action.Either get an unregistered permit or a trailer.

just ask about, i'm sure there would be someone in your area with a spare set of panels and some seats that they would be happy to lend you till you
get yours done.
if not, i'm sure you could pick up a back seat and some rough panels for less than a days trailer hire.

I have all winders and that stuff, just no door cards. I have all my seats, theyre just really rough. Id put them in to get on the road quicker
though. Thanks guys! Car is currently with a beater/ painter getting all the body and paint, although hes hurt his hand so its all slowing down a bit,
all good though!
