New Golf R runs 12.1@113mph?

Was racing my ute at Calder on Sat. & lined up behind a new Golf R DSG with bolt-on mods only.

Best run I seen was a 12.1@113mph? MPH is from memory, but definitely remember seeing 12.1 light up.

I was waiting a car back from the burnout box.

Very impressive for "bolt-on" mods only.

Sorry. No pics of the Golf. I'm sure they'll pop up on Fullboost soon enough.

For interest sake....

My ute with a "cam only" engine mod ran 11.82@116.98mph, 1.72 60ft. Driven 3hr round trip to & from the track in full street trim & weight, less spare.

Let the rear tyres pressures down to 17psi cold, fronts pumped up 50psi & removed the air filter.

Would be 0.5sec left in it, if I let it cool off. Intake was boiling!

Weather was awesome during the day, although alittle hot & mid arvo a head wind. It did cool off in the evening, but not a heap & everyone had started to had enough & started to leave. So they closed up early.

Bring on the next event!!!!!

Hoping to get my engine bits back for my Mk1 before xmas & get cracking on the new engine & setup.

Would like to say it will be done for the WSID VW drag event, but its looking more like after easter - mid year.

Not going to be just an "engine" build. Will be a total restoration, rust repairs, panel & paint, all new seals & badges + a complete new engine/driveline setup & then test it.

Predicted time - unknown, but pushing for 420+hp to start with on mild boost (19-21psi) & a safe tune.
