WTB: Passenger side vent window for 70 Beetle
I am badly in need to a passenger side vent window.
I mainly need the frame, preferably with a good latch, but a complete vent window is fine too. I would even consider a pair of them.
I was doing a great job of replacing the latch on my vent window. I had got to the point where I was putting everything back in the door....then I
realised I had left out something and so needed to remove the glass from the frame again....and that was when I managed to bend/break the frame.
I will ring A couple of places tomorrow, but the only web listing I can see is on cip and they only list a left side (buying new I would prefer to get
both). So I am hoping someone can help me with second hand one.
Cheers..

they probably sell a lot of driver side quarter windows over there... LHD...
I don't know of anyone who has taken the glass out and replaced the latch Stig...
My beetle is German made and had German glass in the quarter windows... while restoring My Beetle over many years... somehow I gave away My 2
original quarter windows
to a local who had one piece windows and wanted to go back to originals... I didn't know I had given Him the German ones till I went to assemble My
doors.. lol
My Quarter windows have two different latches...
one latch is held on with a roll pin... the other isn't...
Did you use new rubber seals in the quarter windows stig?

Hi Lee,
I do not know of anyone else who has replaces the latches either. It is all pretty straight forward....now that I know what I am doing though. I am
pretty confident that I can do it now I know what needs to be done. Unfortunately the first one was a little trial and error and I weakened the frame
in the process. Then when I had to take the glass out again the second time, it could not handle the extra stress and broke. You live and learn
though.
And yes, I was replacing all the rubber seals. The one between the glass and the frame itself, and the one that is between the vent window and the
door frame.
With a replacement window and a little patience I am sure I will get it all sorted.
Cheers.

I have done it many years ago.
I am glad Matt is sorting you out - I was at his place on Sunday afternoon and saw them in one of his parts cars, so when I got home and saw your
post, I emailed him to see if he was selling them and gave him the link to this thread.
From your ole' mate Jeff
