thread pitch on fuel tank outlet (bottom)
Hi Guys,
Does anyone know what the tread is on the fuel outlet at the bottom of a bugs 68 tank? Wanting to change it over to a 8mm barb, but i dont know what i
am working with?

Mezz, cheers but not what i want. That is the standard 6mm part and i want to change it over to an 8mm. Cheers for the link though

I think that kit may just replace the original fuel pipe...??
using 5mm fuel hose..going by the fuel hose size under it.
just as easy to place some hose over the existing fuel pipe out the bottom..
or braze an 8mm barb fitting onto the original nut??

Check out AIRKEWLD I think they do a barbed fitting aswell and Dash screw fittings for braided lines..

I made these myself from the original VW tank fitting and common brass fittings so there is no part number.

Go to a bolt supplier to have the thread pitch measured and vernier the diameter. Once you have those details go online for fuel supply
specialists.
pretty sure I've seen the complete nut with in built barb on UK and USA sites. As with Oz, if it ain't a common part then you can't buy it local
but have to be creative or buy abroad.
