hexbar linkage question

hey fellas, i have the latest model cb hexbar kit, steel bar etc.dual drla 40s.
after synchronising carbs and linkage, at full throttle travel, there is a gap on one side between stops on one carb of 3-4 mm.
the car seems to run fine but is a little concerning as this implies that one carb is leading as the revs increase.
everything looks straight and even otherwise and no play in linkages.
at idle both carbs read the same on the snail gauge.
any comments?

check and make sure that the actuation arms are the same distance along the bar and the linkage is the same angle looking from behind.

yep, vertical is correct biz....just not working properly that way.
i should stress it is only 3-4mm out at end of travel on one side, but...

Do you have any "slop" in the ball joints / hex bar??

I had problems with mine - one of the reasons I changed to CSP

It's the ratio that can change if any lever arms are different in length. This will normally happen if the adj rods aren't the same angles relative to the arms or an arm has a slight bend thus altering the length. Take a pic of your setup.

mmmmmmm........... the right arm seems to be pointing up more??
Would mean the arm is longer??

Is it the right one that stops first??

yeah..right one hits stop before left.
it does look higher in the pic but i think it's just the pic.
i'm going to try pulling the linkages to bits and refitting with the bar turned 180deg. or end for end just to see if anything changes.
thanks bizarre,mat
