Stockton Beach Trip Photos

Some photos I took over the weekend during the Stockton Beach Trip Weekend.

We have 13 Buggies and 3 Baja over the weekend. Half came from Queensland with the furtherest, Blue Baja coming from Mackay.

I know at the drags Micks SWB buggy turbo VW motor has beaten a WRX powered LWB buggy. Not sure if this would be to do with greater HP or to do with significant less weight. Mick is probably running about 250 - 300kg's lighter than the LWB buggy.

Not sure how much it has cost Mick....he might not know either ;).

I'm not involved in drags and havn't been since I was a young(er) fella and then not legal drags, ah, the island on Friday and Saturday night, such memories, but back then it wasn't so much about the power but how effectively you got it to the ground, I beat more than one "hot" six cylinder in my bog standard (except for a full ballance) Peugeot 404 simply because it didn't smoke em, mind you Micks buggy is real real nice. :D:spin:

Mick had a Dyno sheet with him at the Raliegh Sprints at Valla that showed 150hp. And in the dunes you can see him drifting sideways UP the big dune faces with rooster tails no problems at all

It got a bit bent when he hit a sharp dune to hard, and then just got worse from there until he was a snow plough and had to fix it !!

Glad you like the Pics guys.

Yes it was a great turnout. Hopefully the Qld boys get to stay and play a bit longer next time.

I reckon we should invite then down for a week next time and put on some dune events. Like the Stocko Olympics. A bit of Motorkhana, 1/16 mi drags, leap frog and the stockemberg top time.

Should be a lot of fun. Will plan it for next year when it cools a little. Time it around Valla.

Cheers for the pos comments.

Yes Mick Buggy does get a lot of attention. He estimates about 12-15k on his motor with all the spares, injection, plumbing etc.
