WTB - Beetle "Flash Trim"

Im after a set of Australian Flash Trim. I like the look of the trim but not that much to pay silly prices for it.

as in http://forums.aussieveedubbers.com/viewtopic.php?tid=92284&page=1#pid858603

and http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=832185

Silly prices? Where? I couldnt see any silly prices on those links?

The ad you have there on the Samba is a bloody good price for a complete set of flash trim even if it is rerpo. If you think that is expensive, definitely dont look into getting a full set of original flash...

I did think that the Samba was over priced . So, yes your right, I most likely wont be getting them. They are the same as the standard side trim but a different shape, how does the price justify the product? Original ones may be rare, but repo should just be punching them out at a dime a dozen.

I will have to add these to the holy grail of VW parts list along with the TELEFUNKEN Radio antenna.

i have a Model MV14 set - like those mentioned on the linked thread
original sets are a wider profile than the stock trim,
the aluminium panels that are inserted in this particular set have been coloured (maybe anodised red on one side which you could use either red or silver side - nb one is currently black however)

the repro ones are not hugely expensive to make - but for the people who have done the hard yards should be able to charge what the want - within reason, and the ones on the samba are cheaper than the ones being sold locally...

open to offers if anyone is interested - and will try and get some pics asap... but unfortubately no they won't be cheaper than the repro standard set as mentioned on this thread...

same as these:
