VW Owner in the UK found this in His engine???
A fellow in the UK bought a 1972 beetle in good condition apart from the engine being seized....
He pulled the engine down and found these screws and wing nuts in the engine...
He thinks someone may have sabotaged the engine...
[maybe didn't like the owner???]

I have found a few washers and odd things under my rocker covers before, it came after i was severley undercharged on an engine build so my theory is
the builder was attempting to wreck the engine in order to get some more money out of me. or they were just left there by accident...

Probably needed a more efficient air filter to remove those air bourne particles.

I forget which forum I saw it on but a bloke pulled down an engine that had been sitting a while and there was a pertrified mouse in one of the
cylinders.

Heh - just another reason to tape up those ports people !!!
My Dad used to work for a BMC dealer back in the late 50's to early 60's... told me a story with a guy's brand new Austin Healey 6 and how at it's
first service had A LOT of metal particles come out in the oil.
So they tore it down and found the sump full of machining swarf, and way more than from just poor cleaning during manufacture... turned out to be some
nastiness going on during an industrial dispute.
Not long after BMC went from meaning British Motor Co to Badly Made Car....

i think its a wind up, those parts look VERY clean, that wood screw hasn't been inside an engine, was the first post done at the beginning of
April??
there are a few more clean screws on the floor in that pic, i think someones pulling your leg mate.

When a valve opens in a cylinder head, the clearance between the valve face & seat is not large enough to allow a mouse to even have a sniff in
there !!!

so they are trying to tell us that a 50mm long screw managed to get INSIDE the cylinder? i dont think so.
manifold was on or off? if it was off the a box of bits falling onto the motor would still see the bits in the inlet ports, bits shoved in thu the
exhaust ports???, it would be easier to pour sand into the case. its a wind up,
wheres a link to the story? lets get it first hand!

You're shitting me...
A full grown mouse can squeeze through a hole the size of your finger tip, imagine what a young one can do.
I've seen them slip under doors that have a 10mm or smaller gap under.
But anyway I saw the actual photos of the mouse inside the cylinder once the head was removed.
I just cant remember which forum it was on
Beleive me they get in anywhere and everywhere
Oh except brake adjuster holes are abit of a challange.....
