Pop out windows
Hi I'am looking at a set of windows (pop out) for a 68 bug.
Will 59 bug pop outs fit in a 68?
Thanks.

no - there is 68 on and early
You can easily tell the difference by where the latch attaches.
early - to the frame
late - to the glass

No
All glass got larger in 1968 in Australia...
so You need the late model pop outs....
1968 to 1976 all models....
cheers

I was lucky to buy an original German pair at a good price, you can get replicas for around $400

be aware that if you dont have the hinges, hinge mount plates, hinge covers, and swing out latches you are up for a decent extra cost. Check the CIP1
or Wolfsburg West websites for parts required to make it all work, just to give you an idea.
Worth doing though, they are great.

Dont buy the $400 repros, they don't fit.
Get originals of ebay us or the samba and then get new hinges, rubbers, latch covers etc as required.
At the moment I dont think anyone is making new latches that are any good.
