I have an engineer looking at my car ATM to certify it here in QLD so I will ask him about it. No welding cert., bolts or anything came with it, just the Beam Extender.

I suspect the same here in QLD. They guy who does theres is a certified welder and I dont mind getting it xrayed. I think what may be harder is convincing QLD transport that using the standard suspension and increasing the wheel base by 8" will have little to no real negative effect. (increase turning circle)

I had a convo about this here on another thread http://forums.aussieveedubbers.com/viewtopic.php?tid=70595&page=5#pid829001

This states transport authority will only comply with a national code if it fits in with "their" code.

yep, had a read of that. Vehicle Standards Bulletin 14 (VSB 14)

I noted: "All vehicles should incorporate a reasonable degree of Ackermann steering geometry."

and

"Reinforcements must be added to achieve comparable structural strength and stiffness at body attachment points whenever a replacement suspension or steering system from a different vehicle model is used. The modifications must not create local stress concentrations;"

Looks like they finally understand a bit better about Ackermann. But both statements above may still be under interpriptation of the examining officer, therefore not black and white.

MY interpritation is that it IS possible and that the Beam Extension with a frame brace will more than surfice to exceed the standard structural strength. As far as I can tell from that documentation its all system go.
