Anyone know about fibreglass KG convert

Just looking at another post of a project I missed out on and a few years back I was really keen on a fibreglass Karman Ghia convertable that was for sale on Ebay down south. Sat on a beetle chassis from memory and was just the body/ doors/ boot etc. Had never been assembled.

Anyone know what became of it - would love to see if it progressed.

Yep, it's just up the road from me. Fortunately it went to the right guy as the car was a basket case, the PO had cut it up in all sorts of wierd places trying to get it straight. The car's new owner has done an excellent job of completing it using og doors and convertible top, Fuchs alloys and dare I say it, Subi power..... Presently in primer but together with painted jambs.

I visited where they made these in England a few years ago. They are a based on a 1970 convertible. They come up on UK ebay and on Volkszone VZi now and again. They go for not a lot of money, but I'm not sure how much they'd cost to finish.
