I've always assumed that the sekurit glass is a german brand of safety glass, used in most VW's.

oval tofu. sekurit is the glass that was fitted in early ovals, poss late splits too. it is the correct glass for your 54.
i think there was a brand called viskurit (sp) that came in some splits too.
some if not all 56's came with duroglas... sorry no slow, the only duroglas i have is scratched plus still has a car attached.
i don't know what glass 57's had, but 58 on cars had armorfloat (sp)
as for finding sekurit, it isn't that common, but if you hunt around you should be able to find it. you could try places like normal, non vw,
wreckers that might have glass, they prob wouldn't know/care that there was differnet markings on the glass, so no hiked up price.

sorry no-slow my windows got a car attatched to them too...
I want to replace my front left 1/4 vent window coz its still got the 1982 reg sticker on it from when it was last fully registered! Kinda like a
sentimental thing... I wanna keep the glass, so i need a 'new' one (decent quality chrome and minimal scratches)... I'm also thinking
of replacing my windscreen which is also an Sekurit screen coz its got a large array of scratches from its 49 year existance... it makes it a bit hard
to see at night time... and theres a strange circular rainbow discolouration right in front of the driver too. Appears to have been tremendously
heated or something...
so if anyone's got a nicish 1/4 pasenger vent window.... u2u pls!
