new O2 sensor.
I have been running my 89' t25 for four months now and find the fuel consumption pretty bad, it also had a flat spot when cold. I have replaced the
O2 sensor as reccommended and find the flat spot worse (when cold) but smooth running when warm? bit early to tell on the fuel consumption.
any ideas?
Thanks

MAP sensor? or does it have a MAF? blocked injectors? TPS can cause hesitation.
Since you say it related to temp and bad fuel consumption I recomend you check the coolant temp sensor first though.

Thanks. i have already changed both temp sensors in the thermostat block of bits. is there another one to change somewhere else? What is the Map or
Maf sensor? Injectors are fine. Maybe i should take it to a genuine VW service and get them to plug into the computer. They should be able to tell,
just costs a bundle.

Air flow meter.
Its 80s VW L-jet cutting edge technology here
Does it run a single wire o2 sensor? or is it a multiwire heated one?

Not sure about a heated one, but it is multi wire, two into a squar plug and a single spade bit. 3 wires altogether and fits into the catalytic
converter.

No computer socket on a T3 to plug in, it's Digifant. Take it to a good VW mechanic that has experience with them.
I read it on samba, so it must be correct.
Sometimes Volkswagen dealers sell spare parts. Amazing isn't it!

User friendliness of bosch ECUs is almost non existant.
I never had much luck getting diagnostic codes from them.

what do you call bad fuel economy??
My 89 Caravelle (auto) gets 16L/100kms round the city - corner shop runs etc etc and about 11.5L/100kms on a holiday run with 4 people, stuff and a
dog.

the most i have got out of a tank of 50 liters is 360kms. if in town driving then 300-330 liters. i dont think this is very good. I think that is
about 14l/100 and 16-17/100 for town. Not the best out of a tank.
