^^^^ ahhh ok, cheers Matt! ;)
so , here are some thoughts and notes I have made since driving on road up and down the coast a bit now and the daily work drive.
> I would not buy this type of muffler again.. too many joins, has already started to brown/tan off even though I have been cleaning it.
> engine build is ok but I feel the C35 cam is kinda lumpy for around town driving (I'm not knocking the CAM, so don't get your panties in a knot) You can feel the build wants to be driven hard and hates creeping along in peak hour traffic.
> Highway driving is f@%$ing awesome!! GPS had me at 140 klms going north last week for about a 2klm stretch and it still had more but I then was fearing for my own safety with the rest of the car maybe disintegrating around me so I pulled back.
> I have already gone thru 2 drivers side mirrors, on one the thread snapped (soft dough metal) and the other unwound itself and fell out onto the road.
>Even with body deadener on the highway it is still a bit loud in the cab.
> I will never use DBshenker to freight goods EVER!
> I will never do a ground up resto again EVER.
> Central locking is so nice to have in a 42 year old car.
> Window tinting yourself sux ass! (I was good years back but seem to have lost the touch)
> Measure 2wice.... cut zero..... go back and measure the 3rd time then cut you fool!!!!!!
> 2ltr gearboxes kick ass
> Cylinder head temp gauge, oil pressure guage and oil temp guage have me hooked, maybe it would be better only having a pressure gauge and not have that feeling like all I do when I drive is watch gauges fluctuate
> I love watching DVD's in the back seat with wireless headphones or even better transmitting thru my head unit real loud
> Wish I did spend the money and time on making the ute flooring able to be lifted up on gas struts.
> Love parking it down at Kirra beach and watch people get on their knees to look under the ute, sit on the back for pics to post on facecrack etc etc... all i do to give them a scare is flash my alarm hazards and they git the idea.
> It stands tall so I would love to bring it down an inch but I'm not sure I could do it.
> Love the timber tray and the inlay VW logo
> Love to drive it!!! :D

more to come........................

...fitted electronic ig this arvo
smooth and responsive, felt the difference almost straight away fitting electronica. So much smoother on acceleration and at idle it feels like its smoother. Haven't played with jetting yet, going to drive a bit like it is with electronica and see how it is.

yum yum

Plug one of your booster fittings as you only need one to run the brake booster , as it simulates a balance pipe which will stuff up mixtures on a worked engine

Should solve this problem fairly easy for next time!

ooooooooooo kay, got my ute back..........pulled the engine to give the engine bay a scrub down and remove all the extinguisher powder that was hiding in cracks, it was fuggin everywhere!!!!. etched and resprayed the whole bay. Got real anal retentive and have slipped all the wiring that comes into the bay in that black umbilical toobing. Going to color code some of the tinware just for shits n giggles.

Worked out that my CR is too low (1.85mm was my deck height), so while the engine is out I shaved down the barrels and set the deck height at approx 1mm. Going to cut the heads and reduce the cc's to around 55cc's (they are 59cc now) which will give me 9.3:1 CR.
Ahhhhhh money money money.........
