I Have a 77 panel, and in the factory hand book that came with the car from new, it states 56l, five of which are reserve.

On the lines of fuel.......
For a stock 1600 kombi how many litres per 100 kms? I seem to be using a fair bit but maybe thats normal for a kombi and its weight...can I get some feedback please?

you really dont want to ask this question - just enjoy the experience of driving a kombi

I have a 2L auto T2.5/3
I will defend my answer by saying 90% of the driving done is cold, it doesnt get a chance to go into 3rd. It is my wifes and its a real kid carrier.

Anyway if i get 16L/100kms i am happy is it is the round town stuff. I can get up to 12L/100kms if we go camping and we do a cruise.

Yep its heavy but like the other day we went to West Head and had 8 peoples in the car. Feels the same with 1 in the car. So on that side it is better than taking 2 beetles:bounce

According to the Haynes (U.S.) manual for 1972-1979, 56 litres.

It would not be a huge surprise to find other capacities in Australia.

Hey we will be all able to check our fuel economy (Vic VW's) at the VWCV economy run coming up.

We hope to go really well with the smooth spats on.
