I'm after a good set of front seat belts for a 71 Beetle.
Thanks

It's technically illegal to re-use second hand seat belts. However, that law is obviously unenforceable, because if you have original-type belts in
your car then nobody could prove whether they were original to the car or not. I've found that the webbing on old ones decays and will not work
properly. Seat belt webbing is supposed to be able to stretch slightly on impact to allow you a bit of give as you come to a stop. A lot of old seat
belts look to me as if they have already pre-stretched and relaxed. I've always had modern replacement belts in my old cars and haven't had a
problem with them. When the dashboard isn't padded and there's no airbags, you need to be able to trust your seat belt to keep you in place!
