trial fit the wolfsburg west halves, thick metal an good fit

needed a little tweaking after initial welding for the rear half, but overall a good fit an impressed with the quality. grind back the tops an get it ready for por15 all over it.

cleaned out all the cable tubes except for the choke, so off to find some tube and install it instead. bit of work involved but worth it in the end

early bosch glass in early bosch frames, had to drill holes for the hinges, prob should of saved the frames, but if i put them in the cupboard for a rainy day they will never be used.. purists will hate me now

finally got out to stans an had a chat about the 36er, i already knew it had been rebuilt, but he was quite impressed with it an how good of condition it was in, even said the bearings will be fine to run, but if ive gone this far, might as well change them all out.

used his gear puller to pull off cam/dizzy gear.

Got them from das resto parts, they are the Wolfsburg west ones, good thickness on them as well, I've had brazillian ones b4 as well an these are far superior to them.

I've known of it for many years. Had the option of taking it home with an old country buggy from there when he was having a yard clean up after council had a spit.
Did you ever see the 55 ragtop oval he had there in the old run down shed many years ago. Japanese bloke picked that one up. its now in the USA.

been fuckin around a little 2day, doin stuff to the chassis, but finally got the bracket for the engine made, so fram an oiler bottle is hoked up, an tried to start it, but no dice yet... trouble shoot now

Ooooohhhhhh....... Now that's more incentive to get this thing goin.. I'll lighten it where I can with fiberglass an a whale tail to keep the back down in the race. Haha
