Mods to seat frames
G'day All
Who can tell me the best way to get the seats shown below into a beetle....
My pan is a 58 and I was hoping to some how modify the seat frames to take these seats.
The seats have 4 bolt holes in the base of each.
I realise there is the legalality side of modifying the seat frames etc. What I want is a way that an engineer will most likely sign of on (assuming
all welds are good)..but will still be simple and effective.
My thoughts without having looked to closely were to take my existing seat frames, cut of the bits I don't need and weld a couple of plates to
the frames with holes to allow some bolts to pass through the plate and into the seats.....
Thoughts??? Has anyone done this before???
If I weld the plates to the top bar of the seat frame how do you think I will go on height and position???
Any photos of someone who has done this or links etc
Cheers
Brad

Basically the new seat is welded to a VW base and it just slides on
You may need to support/raise/brace it to get it to the height you want but that is about it
Hey nice seats - 911??

Give us a pic of the base of the seats you want to fit into your car...
You have to try the height as you may need to cut the frame down

here are some shots of mine. its qld approved. I think its like what u want to do. This seat is alot lower than standard. There is no rear leg room.
Try using spacers to get the rite height. Iam a big guy so its nice to have it low and far back.
