just an introduction :)

hello!
After a not so short stint away from vw i have come grovelling back. I bought my first dub, a 72 superbug orange with jellybean mags and checkerboard steps and the rustiest exhaust I have ever seen. I was 16 and kept it till i was 19 when i blew my gearbox and sold it because i was young and dumb (coincidently still am) and regretted it ever since. then i went and got into 80's japanese cars i started out modifying a ke70 (which got stolen then thrashed then burnt to death) then i got mitsubishi starion (which got stolen, presumably thrashed and hopefully roams free across the ranges like a true starion) and then an rt142 corona (which i actually got to sell) which brings me to now!
after a bit of looking around i found myself my new car which will be staying with me for good! it a 75 superbug with the rack and pinion and is mine!!! i just got it serviced and had new tyres fitted plus it has had new suspension fairly recently too.
plans are as follows
- harder/lower springs
- slightly stiffer sway bars
- new less springy seats so im not bouncing/sliding around all the time
- torsion bar
- wider wheels so i have more rubber on the road
- and then finally the engine... i am trying to replicate the feel and power of the 22re in my old corona so i am leaning toward a warm type 4 at the moment
so hello my names alex, i live on the central coast and if you need info on any toyota engines or any old JDM stuff id be happy to try and help! (not that i expect many to take me up on that haha)
p.s i still cannot fathom the complexities of vw engine building so am still very much learning sorry!

Hi Alex, welcome to here. In the first pic, looks like those are tyres with some awesome grip. Dont need fat rubber by the looks.

Welcome back, you picked the best model bug ;)

You would be surprised how many people are into real Toyotas (old rwd).
I love them dearly but they rust like no tomorrow.
I got sick of welding and bogging them back together for rego every year

The Keto stuff should be easy to offload on places like Boostcruisng, they are flavour of the month at the moment
