[FS - WA] 56 Oval 2276 IDA's - SOLD.
Name: Paul
What: 56 Oval
Where: Perth WA
How Much: $18500
Why: Other Priorities at the moment
Contact: 0411 277 971
Forsale is my 56 original patina 56 oval in perfect condition. Built for the Nostalgia drag series with period correct 2276 with Italian IDA's in as
new condition, running original centerline rims. Original black paint and very good red interior (back seat some minor splitting), new hoodliner.
100mm narrowed beam with modified shock towers, drop spindles and adjusters. 4.375 gearbox with bugpack super diff, 4 german spider gears, heavy duty
side plate, welded third and fourth, bearing retainer plate, polished axles and triangulated 6 point race brace. Mocal 525ml oil cooler and fully
flowed thermostat controlled oil system. Autometer gauges and Innovate AF sensor in the glove box. Engine is fully rebuilt 2276 with new 82mm super
race crankshaft, scat chromoly 12 pound flywheel, CB 5500 super race rods, engle 130, scat rockers, WA drag racer Ron Harris prepped heads with 043
casting, extensive welding and porting, 42x37mm CB single groove valves with VW 650 valve springs, match ported manifolds with Italian 48 IDA carbs in
perfect condition, 39mm vents, CB 30mm oil pump. Scat 36hp fan shroud, alternator etc. CB Magnaspark distributor and coil. Produces over 175HP and
previously ran 13.29, with poor 2.15sec 60foot (normally 1.8), on street tyres at 104MPH. The new engine has not been raced and done about 1000miles.
The old flywheel dowels came loose, so the crank and flywheel are new as are all the bearings.
The car has awesome appearance with some cool pinstripe work and goes very well. Drives well on the street with lots of torque and smooth power from
1500rpm. Everything mechanical is new including brakes, steering and suspension parts. Everything works including semaphores.

Hmmmmmm.....I can just see that with big No. 8s on it. How long would it take to drive a T5, with trailer to WA
I'd rather wear a Beetle out by racing it than by polishing it!

You would be safer to transport it by truck, because you would find it difficult not to take your eyes off the rear view mirror.

Not much I would think.... It's perfect and pretty close to legal.... Maybe whack some wide 5 disc brakes (if they are legal) and your done.

To answer the messages I had yesterday, apparently freight to the east is about $900, as backload from Perth is cheaper. That is not a quote, just
what I have been told. And the second question, yes I will separate the engine and sell as roller, but I'm sure someone would love buy the motor off
you once they see and here it go. Thirdly, a comment from another member, the photot's don't really do the car justice. The body is immaculate and
only has one minor dent on the bonnet where a ladder fell on it, and no rust anywhere. Thanks for the interest Paul.
