1967 RHD Australian Squareback - "Elanora"
well where to start...
firstly i'd like to introduce you all to "Elanora". my newly acquired 1967 Squareback. some may think they know her already under another alias or
from other thread. well you are spot on!
it isn't very often i name a car (actually never) but i thought she deserved it. her name is from the suburb that we will be picking her up from...
Elanora Heights. from there, she starts her new life (sounds like a bloody kid).

this car belonged to Simon (canyoudrivestick?). the story to date is in the thread that he started... great story but not fully told after speaking
with him over the last few months.
Elanora is at a stage of completion... just a few little things to tidy up. my wife & myself should be picking her up within the next 1-2 weeks
then we will take a road trip together back home over 3-4 days.
im going to transfer some old build pics then ill add some new updated ones as we go... start a little story on her :wink:

Simons idea was to take it back to original... well as close as possible with a few mods :wink: her transformation taking place. 2008 she was
painted... & thats where she sat covered up for the next 2.5yrs... :o

well 2.5yrs past.
Simon in the UK... Elanora under wraps in Oz. he makes the long journey back in Oct 2011 with the sole purpose of putting her back together. the build
begins 
from under the covers she appears
floor pan
doing it right - fish oil
the dressing begins 8)
new head lining
under bonnet all new
interior/dash
rubbers/lights/trim/windows/wiring
10.45pm... bed time... her Heart tomorrow

its a part Phil Benfield engine from Peninsula Engine Services. phil & his son daniel did the balancing, porting and polishing (lightened flywheel
too) etc. Marcus Osborne worked his mechanical magic & built the engine at Phils.
Phil is old school race engine builder. its a 1776cc, the carbs are Weber 40 IDFs - original italian (from an Alfa) ... it runs an Engle 110 cam - from all reports on the 500km road run in
was "it's very hilly in Sydney (Elanora Heights) and eats them up, lots of torque. what it's gonna be like when it's tuned and jetted is mouth
watering...

well we arrived home safe.
tanya & myself had a great trip. it was nice to spend a few days together (no kids, no work worries.. nothin) ... just cruzin the highway. took
our time, lotsa stops. feeling the car out & slowly running the engine in.
well here are a few shots... enjoy :wink:
first overnight stop... had to check on her late at night :oops:

parked middle of the hume highway :P

i used to be from wagga (thats why the sub got me asking), but now settled in the sunshine coast the last 6yrs.. moved up in a 65splitty, then a
72square, now rocking a 71fastback tle... but would love to get into a 60's type 3

Well nothing to do with this bloody nice dub, but I've never heard of the dog on the tucker box being connected with Slim Dusty, though wouldn't
surprise me if he did sing a few bars of it in a few bars, always thought it had two fellas connected with it, Bowyang Yorke and Jack Moses. Still, as
I said, thats nothn to do with this prime example of a square.

Hey Matty,
No thread. The guy I bought it from resprayed it for me so got a few snapps of that, plus some photos of when it was originally restored about 6-7
years ago. Unfortunately got rear ended a month or so ago and it is an economic write off, still driveable and registered, but shes stuffed.
Empi - fat chicks need loving as well, I am normally happy to oblidge.
