Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone else here race bmx?
Just practicing at the moment and going to start again in over 35 cruiser class as my little girl is racing in 6+.
If so what club and bracket?

Old freestyle frame... Cool. You should track down cressy on here in the new members section. He builds up old bmx's back to standard form. Some are
worth big $$$ when done. What is it?

My two sons raced in the late '70s & early '80s. As they needed to be transported to the track, I decided to have a go in the 'dads' races,
and bought a GT Cruiser. The boys did better than I did, although I managed to win one race. During that time, I made made heaps of my 'MAC-RAC'
bike carriers.
Last month, my son, Tim, finished restoring my old GT Cruiser, and is now racing......along with his son [Tom]. Maybe I should see if they have a
'grandads' race.
I'd rather wear a Beetle out by racing it than by polishing it!

i thorght it was a GT performer as it looks like one but i think its called a tibburum or soem brand starting with T
Theres not that many of them though cause i cant find much info. I Grew up near ashmore in gold coast and would often go to the track and ride around.
We moved away when i was 8 and i never got inot it as no bmx scene or track where we moved but i was always still interested in it, i built 2 new
school "street" BMX 's and done up a 1987 mongoose freestyle bike as a "street racer" sadly and stupidly i sold the bike but am happy with the
old school frame i have now, (also it has black "tuffs" wheels.

Yeah, as Ben above said... I race for Southlake Illawarra BMX Club in Albion Park NSW. I just started in the middle of last year. I race a Hillbrick
Cruiser. Our club has members from 10 to 65 yrs of age riding cruiser class and it's an absolute blast!!! We all compete at club level together but
for Open events I squeeze into the 30 - 34 bracket.
So... I'm really starting to get into my BMX racing and I've been venturing out onto other tracks to race in their open events and at the same time
I'm just starting my first Bug project, sanded it back to bare metal... then, I'm faced with the decision - Macarthur Open or VW Nationals? It's
been a hard decision and no matter how I look at it I just can't do both ...
I'll be disappointed to miss out on racing but the bug needs new (and old) bits so I'll be making the trip up to the Nationals... Time to put the
shopping list together
T54, what club are you and your daughter at?

Sending Casey would be ... but I did think of asking yourself
or my brother to go for me for two reasons even, one so I could go to BMX and the other because I'm hopeless at making
decisions about what to buy (most times because I don't know what I want or need )
Anyway, I'll gladly miss BMX to wonder the swap meet, talk to the vendors and check out the show and shine so that I might learn some more...

Kempos, I raced for 3 years with The Cove and another 8 with Happy Valley here in SA when I was a kid up until 1989 where I raced in the state titles
and came 7th. After that got into girls and mountain bikes.
I will become a member of Happy Valley once again with my daughter.
Did you go down to Mt. Gambier. There is great footage of the finals on youtube.

Me first Jak, but I would love to ride the hell out of it. Beautiful bike.
I had a redline just like you white one but it was red with gold araya rims for my first bike.
If your a collector you might like this bike I had. Sold it a little while back on OzBmx to someone who's forum name was something 'shark'.
Blackshark???

If you know where it is or have seen pics of it restored please let me know where so I can check it out.

'dragsters for life' that is an impressive collection of bikes. You have done an awesome looking job on each one!!!
'T54', na, I didn't participate in the NSW state titles so I didn't qualify for Aussies. The track at Mt Gambier looked world class. Everyone
that went said they had a blast. All the best for the new start!!!

That bike is not Skyway Street Beat, it's actually a Univega Street Heat. Haven't seen or thought of one of those for many moons. What a great blast
from the past.
I have a NOS 1985 Skyway Street Beat frame in Orange. Will have to collect the parts to build it up one day.
