Tip: get a greased cord rope about 5mm thick cotton based not nylon. Put into rubber groove that will be the metal edge if the body( make sense ?) place windshield in place and starting in a corner. Top I think . One person pushing firmly on outside, other person inside. Use rope to pull rubber lip over body edge as top comes out it needs to fall over the lip to hold it in place. Remember windscreens are pretty sturdy. Good luck

Try not to use grease, depending on the rubber quality, it may effect the rubber. VW used Glycerine, you can get it from a chemist if you don't have any, but detergent or even baby powder will work.

YEP. will be, going to meet Tarin at the sundowner on bribile island road, and most likely take both the beetle and the lowlight(will get wife to drive kombi)

will be good to catch up with some people and get a bit of community going.

Well finally fitted the replacement second hand windscreen and new rubber... held my breath when removing the old screen and thank god no rust:D little bit of scaling around the edge but nothing to worry about:tu:.

Took photos for proof how clean it was....(and so i could keep checking it and put a smile on my dial:spin:)
