Beetle Chassis + Body lineup

We all know you can lift and change the bodies on beetles. Is there any limit to what years you can change it up?

Can I change a pre '67 body with a post '67 body?

As Dave says above they'll all fit other than strut bugs - pretty common to put a later IRS pan under an early body.

One thing tho is that upto 67 and 68-on are different around at the body mount at the rear shock towers - the hole will line up, but you'll need to raft the bracket on the body either higher or lower depending on the combo.
