That time of year again where I do my little bit of work on the project I never get time for.

Had to replace the fuel line from the tank as it bust open and drained all my fuel. Took the time to replace the fuel filter while I had the tank out.

Got the car running again and the fuel pump has now started leaking.

So brings me to my current question, do I put a kit through my manual fuel pump, or replace it with an electric fuel pump kit, which seems to be around the same in price?

rebuild your original

If you go electric you need relays for wiring changes so as the fuel pump will shut off when the motor has stalled - like in an accident

Electric fuel pumps are really for high flow situations

Ok, cheers for the advice. The kit looks pretty simple, couple of gaskets, new diaphragm and springs? There are no adjustments I will need to do is there, just replace items?

do not believe so

All the "adjustment" in in shimming gaskets under the pump to adjust the distance from the pushrod.

If it worked before it will work again

Thanks for your help so far. I have looked on some sites for the kits, they talk about hp sizes, can you tell from the image below what type of pump this is? I believe my motor is a 1600 twin port.
