Feedback on RLR REV6 clutch
I ordered a new clutch setup from Ron Lummus and installed it to help fix a problem I was having with my car , breaking R/Pinions on a type one box. I
broke it in according to Ron's instructions and took it to the track this weekend , extremely happy with the results. I decided to NOT do a burnout
with the car and just launch it so I would not overheat the discs the first pass , was I suprised when my first 60 ft was a 1.36 and car ran a good
6.45sec 1/8th at 109 mph. ET and mph were about the same as normal but that was my best 60 ft. Throughout the day the 60 fts stayed very consistant
and I never did a burnout , but cool down time between rounds is very important, when it did not cool down enough on my second pass it chattered a
little bit trying to manuver around parked cars in the pits but still worked good when I launched it. My last pass of the day it did a 1.355 60 and
another 6.45, transmissinon shifted flawlessly with those low mass discs, my syncros were very happy. If you run a type 1 tranny like I do I would
consider this to be a great investment. Someone asked me about my clutch management system, not needed with this clutch setup. When we can figure how
to download the videos from John Toomeys phone I will post them, Mike McCarthy

Here is a vid of some of the passes at the race. I came to a gun fight with a knife HP wise but had a great time, Mike McCarthy

Great Video Mike.
Gee Ollie and Helmut really have that pro stocker running sweet!
Was he using nicasil cylinders in that engine?

Thanks for sharing Mike. The last pass of yours in the video looked soooo sedate.

Hey Dave and Matt,
Dave he is running them ,we were talking about how cool they run . Ollie was number one qualifier @ 6.10 I believe and Troy Sellers was number
2 @ 6.12 I think. Thanks Matt, you wouldn't believe how smooth it was inside the car, felt like an automatic . I cut a good light but just couldn't
beat Troys HP , he's a good guy and has a great car. Mike McCarthy

Well I checked everything in the car and she is good to go again, clutch just needed minor adjustment . I changed the oil and opened up the Oil filter
along with the normal adjustments I do everytime after a race and removed the rockers . I was down on HP but the engine was running excellent so it is
what it is. I am happy with my 6.45 , my P/Best was 6.35 but at a much lower weight than I have now. When I feel more confident I will be changing the
compound of the discs to increase bite but not yet. Thank you guys for the positive remarks, Mike McCarthy

If I remember correctly, you have been big on small discs for years Dave.... This setup from Ron sounds very cool indeed, and looks so smooth at the
track.
