Is there a Purvis in Newcastle?

My midlife crisis has taken the shape of a Purvis Eureka.
This toy would best be described as "some assembly required".
I have no idea where to start, so I'm looking for a complete, running machine to get a look at & take a few dozen photos to get said idea.
There used to be one floating around Newy. Any guesses??

Right here in Gwandalan. Believe it or not, 5 houses up the road.
Bloke has had it for 15 years & not touched it. I've known about it for 8 years & always said if it came up for sale it would be here in a heartbeat.

I have seen a red one at Newcastle car shows over the years..

and have seen more than one at the Nationals some years..

they seem to be one of the better kit cars..

Not sure what tail lamps they have.

Make absoultely certain that you are not too tall for a Purvis Eureka.

I'm 5'10" in old language and when I sat in a Purvis with the seat very close to the floor the top of the windscreen frame was right in front of my eyes and blocking my view of the road.

That would be reason enough for me to never buy a Purvis.

The purvis must have been designed by someone who was short.

I've been reading up on them.
The first model, which this one is, the roof line is very low. You can sort of see on the photo that someone has tried to make a targa top. At 5'6 I've got no problem, but, my eldest son at 6'1, the roof line is level with his nose. May have to leave the targa top & get him a pair of flying goggles
Apparently, they made the next model to accomodate taller people.
The red one is the one I'm thinking of, seen it at a few local shows myself, but not for a while.
Went down to the nationals with 2 cameras, not one showed up.

It's not as if there's a rush though.

Didn't know they had a forum, I'll get on to that.
I emailed this mob 2 weeks before I bought the car & I'm still waiting on a reply.

I reckon that if I had a Purvis. I'd remove the lift up lid and take the car down to a boat place and have them fit a customised boat windscreen to it.

It would probably be plastic, and would possibly be illegal but until the windscreen became impossible to see through when driving into the sun, it would solve the problem that I have of being too tall for one.

As I said the later model had a higher roof line. You can see it here.
So you may just need to look for one of them.
